Work authorization for students in co-op and internship programs

Canadian citizenship is available to permanent residents who have met the residency, language, and knowledge requirements set out by IRCC. To be eligible, applicants must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days (three years) within the five years preceding their application, meet Canadian language requirements in English or French at a CLB level 4 or higher, and be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of Canada's history, values, institutions, and symbols through the citizenship test. Applicants must also have filed Canadian income taxes for at least three of the five years in the eligibility window.

The citizenship application process involves submitting a complete application package to IRCC, passing a written knowledge test, and — for most applicants — attending a citizenship ceremony where the Oath of Citizenship is taken. Children under 18 may be included in a parent's application. Processing times vary but typically range from 12 to 24 months from the date of a complete application. Yulia assists permanent residents in assessing their eligibility, calculating their physical presence days accurately, and preparing a thorough application package to move confidently toward the final milestone of their Canadian journey.
