Status Restoration

Regain your legal status in Canada before it's too late

Status Restoration

If you have lost your temporary resident status in Canada (whether as a visitor, student, or worker) you may be eligible to restore it, provided you apply within 90 days of the status expiry and you still meet the original requirements for that permit. Restoration is not a right; IRCC has discretion to approve or refuse based on the circumstances, and applicants must demonstrate that the loss of status was not intentional or due to misrepresentation.

Acting quickly is critical, after 90 days, restoration is no longer available and the individual may be required to leave Canada and apply for a new permit from outside the country. While a restoration application is pending, the applicant may be eligible to maintain their previous conditions under implied status rules, depending on their situation. Yulia assesses each case carefully to determine the best path forward and helps prepare a complete, well-documented application.
