Entry to Canada for tourism, family visits, and short-term stays

Foreign nationals who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents generally require either a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV — commonly called a visitor visa) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to enter Canada, depending on their country of citizenship. Citizens of visa-exempt countries travelling by air require an eTA, while citizens of non-exempt countries require a TRV. Most visitors are authorized to stay for up to six months at a time.

A visitor visa application requires proof of financial support, ties to the home country, a clear purpose of visit, and a credible intent to leave Canada at the end of the authorized stay. Refusals are common when applications are incomplete or when the officer is not satisfied with the applicant's ties. Yulia provides thorough preparation of visitor visa applications to give clients the strongest possible file, particularly for family members visiting from Ukraine and other countries with historically higher refusal rates.
